At the foot of an Engadine mountain, at the edge of St. Moritz Lake, a 1000 square-meter area of soil that is painted intensely black by ink nests in contrast within the green lush landscape around it. Over a few days, a fine layer of tender green grass breaks out from the black soil to take the form of the words “AMOR FATI.” Philosopher Nietzsche, who was inspired by the Engadine landscape, had written "Amor Fati – 'Love Your Fate', which is in fact your life."

This work draws from the historical connection between great thinkers and the Engadin landscape. Great natural beauty can inspire great thought, and ideas seeded and germinated in these lands have been carried out to the world, across distance and time, to form new inspiration that fuel the world today.
